W is for The WereCleaner

Sometimes, it can be really challenging to hold down a steady job. Maybe you have a chronic illness that makes you miss work, or family obligations that force you to make hard choices. For Kyle, our protagonist, the answer is fairly straightforward.
He’s a werewolf.
Normally, this is no problem for Kyle, as he only transforms after dark, and he’s got this decent job as a janitor at Howlin’ Hugs during the day. However, when the CEO sends an email stating that all employees must work nights for one week of unpaid overtime, or else they won’t get their paycheck… Kyle has an uphill battle to make, if he wants to make his paycheck and pay his rent on time.

In this free stealth comedy game, guide Kyle through the work week as he must clean up the messes around the office without creating too many of his own! As explained in this handy brochure from the Werewolf Society Integrated, werewolves are forced to kill if spotted by a non-werewolf, meaning that if one of your poor coworkers rounds a corner and spots you, you gotta kill them. And eat them. And cleanup the mess afterwards, in case someone else sees the body, in which case you’ll have to kill and eat them as well. No witnesses.

To complicate matters, more and more of your coworkers will appear throughout the week, forcing you to duck, dive, and distract them away from where you’re working to save their lives. Luckily, your coworkers are very diligent and rather forgiving to ignore the wolf-shaped shadows they may see out of the corner of their eyes, and the office setting has plenty of visual storytelling potential in the kinds of messes you have to clean. From a moldy sandwich to a full satanic blood ritual, maybe the employees are better off ignoring some of the messes their coworkers make. It’s best not to ask too many questions.

The only one who misses that memo is Daryl, the head of security and Kyle’s best bud. Daryl gets increasingly desperate to catch whatever monster he thinks is roaming the building after hours, based on the piece of fur he finds on day 2. Will Daryl find out that Kyle is the source of the fur, and is the very beast he’s been hunting? Can Kyle avoid Daryl until the end of the week and make his rent payment without killing any friends? Give the game a try yourself to find out, as it’s available for free on both Steam and iOS

As a bonus, developer Howlin’ Hugs has recently released a series of short comics highlighting moments before, during, and after the events of the main game! Just beware of spoilers if you decide to watch them before playing.
